LOUISIANA SPORTSMAN'S

INVITATIONAL FISHING RODEO

A TRUE SUCCESS STORY

The Louisiana Sportsman's Invitational Fishing Rodeo was established in 1978 as a non-profit organization. The purpose was to raise and donate money for a worthy cause while allowing rodeo participants a means in which to competitively fish.

The first beneficiary was the Town of Grand Isle for their rock project which was established to prevent erosion. Our second year beneficiary was the Drug Abuse Council Center in New Orleans which assists those individuals with drug problems. Our third year beneficiary was to the Grand Isle Fire Department for the purchase of an ambulance.

In 1992 it was decided to embrace "Camp Challenge" as our beneficiary. Since that time we have donated our proceeds totally to "Camp Challenge. They have been and will continue to be the driving force of our efforts and proceeds. We are proud of this as are the sponsors and participants of the rodeo, as without them we could not reach these goals.

The LSI Association is incorporated as a non-profit organization and governed by a Board of Directors and Officers of which none are renumerated for services rendered. Each year the Rodeo continues to grow which in turn grows our association. In addition, LSI has begun to put on other events in order to raise moneys for Camp Challenge. A yearly golf tournament, and new in 1998 a Motorcycle "Challenge Ride".

The continued success of LSI can only be assured through the continued support of various sponsors. The sponsors provide money, prizes and advertisements which keep us rolling. Also, the different events held during a year allow us to meet our goals.

Give something of yourself and get behind a worthy cause. If you are interested in being a member, participant, or sponsor, please contact us.
